About Dr. Haberland

Dr. Haberland was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and attended Dental school at Universidad Francisco Marroquin. She completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology residency with an MS degree at The Ohio State University in 1998. She stayed on to obtain her US dental degree. Dr. Haberland has taught Oral Pathology as an Assistant Professor at Temple University. She later completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Yale-New Haven Hospital and stayed on as faculty, eventually becoming the Program Director. She is board-certified in both Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Pediatric Dentistry. While at Yale, Dr. Haberland started a clinical oral pathology practice and an Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Biopsy Service in the Yale School of Medicine Department of Pathology.

As part of the American Academy of Oral Pathology (AAOMP), she has served on the education committee and as a Councilor on the board. She is on the editorial board for Pediatric Dentistry, Journal of Dentistry for Children, and Head and Neck Pathology. Her interests are in premalignant lesions, immunobullous diseases, and pediatric oral pathology, and she has lectured nationally on these topics.
