Dr. O’Brien grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and, despite a lifetime of disappointment, remains an avid Browns fan. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University in 2001.
Over the past 20 years, Dr. O’Brien has had the privilege of treating close to 100,000 patients and performing over 10,000 surgeries. He has worked at Ohio ENT and Allergy Physicians for all 20 years and looks forward to another 20 years of service to his patients. He believes his experience as a busy but thoughtful physician/surgeon offers unique value to his patients and their families. Dr. O’Brien is a board-certified ENT (otolaryngologist) treating ear, nose, and throat conditions in infants, children, and adults. He is currently Managing Partner at Ohio ENT and Allergy Physicians.
Dr. O’Brien and his wife, Autumn, a local pediatrician, are eager to “tag along” as their 4 young adult children launch into life. If he is not in the office, operating room, or with family, you will most likely find Dr. O’Brien running along the Sciota and Olentangy trails futilely attempting to fend off the slow but inevitable advance of Father Time. Look for him if you are tailgating at OSU, Notre Dame, Michigan (don’t ask), or Wisconsin (he’s OK with asking about this one) college football games this fall.
I experienced courteous, empathetic, and professional service from Dr. O’Brian and staff from start to finish, they were quick and efficient but concerned as well. Everything felt clean and sanitized and protocols were in place.
I had a perforation in my eardrum that wasn’t healing on its own so I was referred to Dr. O’Brien for a tympanoplasty. It was my first surgery so I was a little nervous but he took the time to answer all my questions and walked me through the entire process. The surgery was successful and my eardrum is back to normal. He was great!
This was the first time I met with Dr. O’Brien, and I could not have been more pleased. The check-in was fast, and the wait time within reason. His nurse Jill was caring, efficient, and very friendly. Dr.O’Brien clearly explained what procedures he was going to do and what I could expect to experience. The scope of my nostrils was the first I have ever had, and all went well. He listened to what I was saying, and I never felt rushed during our appointment. I would recommend him highly.
Dr. O’Brien has treated two of my children for many years. He makes them comfortable and does a really good job explaining the issues. We trust our children’s care with him.
Everyone is so nice and professional and I don’t mind traveling out of town to be seen by Dr Obrien . He was able to improve my hearing when I was told by my own dr nothing could be done . Have the utmost respect for this Ohio ENT group !
I liked Dr. O’Brien because he listened carefully and was sensitive to my concerns and was to the point with his answers. He reviewed my testing with me and explained his recommendation clearly as well as an option for further testing. I chose further testing and his staff made all of the arrangements. Dr. O’ Brien’s medical assistant called me with the result of the test and was equally clear explaining the results. I called her later with further questions and she was very receptive and I felt very comfortable expressing my concerns. I would recommend Dr. O’Brien and his staff without hesitation. On my first visit, I was very pleased. Dr. Kramer is an excellent listener and demonstrated a gentle touch. He explained his plan of treatment for my condition. As I myself am a physician, a retired diagnostic radiologist, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Scott Kramer for ENT challenges. Dr. Richard N Hirsh, MD Bexley, Ohio.
