DAY 1 (DAY OF PEEL) – you will leave with the a bronze look and a slight odor will linger (not bad kind of medicinal smelling)
Please inform me if you have a history of fever blisters as you may benefit from anti-viral medication.
- Do not wash face.
- Avoid sun exposure.
- Do not apply SPF, makeup, or moisturizer until at least 4 hrs later
- Apply 1 post-peel towelette to treated areas prior to bedtime.
DAY 2 (Next morning) Your skin may feel tight but most likely you will not see any peeling yet so go about your day as usual except avoid working out, sweating, or swimming. Makeup is fine.
- In the morning, wash face with a Gentle Cleanser, a few samples will be in your home care kit but Cerave or Cetaphil is fine.
- After washing the face in the morning, apply VI Derm Post Peel Protectant (moisturizer) to entire face.
- Apply VI Derm SPF to entire face.
- Re-apply VI Derm Post Peel Protectant (moisturizer) and VI Derm SPF at least 3 times throughout the day.
- 1 hour prior to bedtime, wash face with Gentle Cleanser.
- Pat dry (do not wipe).
- Apply 1 post-peel towelette to treated areas prior to bedtime.
DAY 3-7 (Second morning- the week) This is the first day will see peeling, it will start around the mouth area. Dark spots will appear darker for a few days as the skin sheds and you will see crepey skin but don’t worry. The more crepey, tight, and discolored the better. It will take 3-4 days of peeling so mark you calendar. N0 working out, sweating, swimming..you skin will be highly sensitive to products. Makeup will not work at the point.
- Wash face with Gentle Cleanser.
- Pat dry (do not wipe).
- Apply VI Derm Post Peel Protectant (moisturizer) and VI Derm SPF to treated areas. Re-apply VI Derm Post Peel Protectant (moisturizer) and VI Derm SPF at least 3 times throughout the day.
- Do not pick peeled skin as this may lead to pigmentation. Aquaphor helps to keep to keep your skin intact until your cleanse.
- Depending upon your skin type and skin condition, you may benefit from a bleaching agent 1 week after your peel to minimize pigmentation.
- When peeling is complete, you may begin using your regular skin care products at this time; however, avoid the use of exfoliating products for a few weeks.
- Sunblock is essential to maintain your results. I recommend our TiZO sunscreens.
- You may benefit from more than one VI Peel treatment which will be determined after we review before and after pics.
